The challenge for this proje was to be given a recipe and photos of the recipe and then create a cookbook spread inspired by the recipe you were given. I really wanted to explore the colorations found in the dish that I was given, playing with the vibrant warm colors amongst the green shades found in the dish. I created the word mark using a typeface that is inspired by the culture surrounding the dish, and added in the colors that are complimentary to the colors found in the photos of the dish. I involved more of these colors in the background of the spread, creating the shapes that stretch across the page towards the ingredients, drawing your eye to them. I had a lot of fun with this project and learned a lot about how to make type relate to what it is talking about.
