For this Typography II project, we were asked to reflect on a personal experience or memory –and articulate it with just six words. We were then tasked to design a series of visual responses expressing the meaning using the criteria provided throughout. This exercise presented me with a series of topographic-morphological studies.
My designs played with the idea of creating a design that was very different from the message portrayed in the six-word memoir. I wanted to play more with the structure of the designs and how the elements added more movement and omitted different feelings based on how they were portrayed and how they interacted. I had a lot of fun with these and was able to explore the idea of movement more through some of these pieces, rather than a more structured ideal. I was able to add my personal aesthetic to these poster designs, as the six-word memoir is something that feels really close to me, and I wanted my posters to represent elements of things I find interesting.
